Roof Repair

Not every problem roof needs replaced. A lot of the calls we get turn out to be one bad flashing detail or a dozen shingles off after a wind event.

What we repair most

Chimney and sidewall flashing is the single most common leak source we find, and it is the detail most often done wrong by whoever was there before us.

Wind-lifted and missing shingles, cracked pipe boots, failed valley metal, ice dam damage along the eaves, and nail pops all show up regularly.

Finding the actual leak

Water travels. The stain on your ceiling is often several feet from where the water is getting in, which is why guessing from inside the house rarely works.

We get on the roof, trace it back to the source, and show you photos of what we found before any work starts.

When we tell you to replace instead

If the roof is near the end of its life, patching it is throwing money at a problem that will keep coming back. We will say so.

Equally, if you have been told you need a new roof and we think you have years left, you will hear that too. One of our reviews is from a customer we told to wait.

Questions we get asked

Is a small roof leak actually a big deal?

Usually bigger than it looks. By the time water shows on a ceiling it has already been in the decking and insulation for a while. Small leaks turn into rotted sheathing and mold, and both cost far more than the original repair.

Will my insurance cover a roof repair?

Sudden damage from wind, hail or a fallen limb is often covered. Wear from age is not. We document damage with photos your adjuster can use and we help homeowners through the claim regularly.

How much does an estimate cost?

Nothing. Justin comes out, gets on the roof, takes photos and writes the bid. Often the same day you call. There is no obligation and no follow-up sales pressure.

What warranty comes with the work?

You get 2 or 5 years on our workmanship depending on the package, plus a 15 or 20 year IKO Iron Clad warranty on the materials. At year 20 an Iron Clad claim still pays 100 percent of what the materials are worth. Coverage transfers to the new owner if you sell.

We live in Forward Township, Butler County and had C. Kalcevic do a full exterior facelift to our home. We had them do the whole package: roof, siding, soffit, fascia and gutters. We could not be more pleased with the work!
